A prestigious site in the centre of Hove required complete footpath reconstruction. The footpath was excavated back to formation and built back from there.
All granite kerbs were taken up and relaid where possible taking into account the several tree pits on site. Where new paving could not be laid due to tree roots the site was bought up to Type 1 level and then a water permeable Flexi pave was applied. This allows water drainage back into the trees and means no roots need to be cut. It also allows for some future growth of the roots without a surface failure.
